Enerray and TerniEnergia light up Tunisia with its first photovoltaic system
Enerray and TerniEnergia, members of the consortium that awarded the PV project, are proud to announce the connection of the first photovoltaic park in Tunisia, on behalf of STEG (Société Tunisienne de l’Electricité et du Gaz).
The solar park, started by TerniEnergia and completed by the Consortium in which Enerray is the EPC, is located in Tozeur, a city in the south-west of Tunis, has a total power capacity of 10 MWp and covers about 20 hectares of land.
The project is part of the strategic plan for the development of renewable energies launched by the Tunisian National Agency for Energy Efficiency (ANME). In particular, the Tunisian Ministry of Energy, Mines and Renewable Energy aims to supply concessions for 500 MW throughout the country in the period 2017-2020, of which 50 MW in Tozeur.
The photovoltaic generator consists of over 31,000 polycrystalline photovoltaic modules with glass-glass technology. Thanks to a rear glass, this system allows to exploit the radiant energy reflected from the desert soil, thus increasing the performance of the photovoltaic system. The estimated producibility is equal to 17.4 GWh/year, sufficient to cover the energy needs of about 43,500 Tunisian families with a consequent CO2 saving of about 7,500 tons every year.
