Enerray Mex and Prana Power together for the development of solar energy in Mexico

Enerray Mex, the Mexican subsidiary of Enerray, has partnered with Prana Power, a subsidiary of private fund manager Artha Capital, to develop solar projects in the country.

Enerray’s consolidated experience as an EPC contractor for photovoltaic systems, combined with Prana Power’s experience in long-term infrastructure investments and energy production, joined with its strong relationships with partners and regional authorities, allows us to have a solid know-how combined with financing capacity and ability to operate throughout Mexico.

Enerray and Prana Power are already working to implement a complete solar power generation program. Enerray will deliver the technical design of the solar solutions, the procedures for the electrical connection and the installation of the photovoltaic systems. On the other side, Prana Power will finance the photovoltaic projects, supervise the installation program and, after the connection, manage the operation and maintenance aspects.

Due to the constant increase in the cost of energy in Mexico, the installation of a photovoltaic plant on the roof of a commercial or industrial factory is very convenient.

Enerray and Prana Power propose a sizing of the solar system that allows a self-consumption rate of more than 10% of the energy produced by the photovoltaic plant and a financing scheme that allows to amortize the cost of the photovoltaic system in 10 years, considering an initial tax benefit up to 30% of the depreciation and earn for the remaining life of the PV plant, estimated in 24 years. Once the term of financing is over the photovoltaic system will be owned by the client and the solar energy will be generated at no additional cost.

Prana Power, a subsidiary of Artha Capital, is the leading company in the development and operation of electric power generation assets. The company has managed to develop different assets with a pipeline of 380+ MW in just one year, both in solar energy projects and in other technologies.

Artha Capital, established in February 2010, is a private equity fund manager that focuses on alternative investments that include the origin, development, acquisition and operation of real estate assets, infrastructure and energy. The company currently has ~ MXN 22.8 billion in assets under management.

Anticipating the opportunities offered by the energy reform in Mexico, in 2015 the company increased the size of its team of energy experts and, through the Prana Capital platform, deployed PRANACK15, an investment fund focused on infrastructure energy sectors through the Mexican Stock Exchange.
