Enerray wins Enel Green Power bid and flies in Brazil
Built in the state of Bahia, the solar farm of 254 MWp will be the biggest in the country and one of the largest in the world
Bologna, 13 January 2016. Enerray, entirely controlled by Seci Energia (Maccaferri Industrial Group) through Enerray Usinas Fotovoltaicas, successfully won Enel Green Power Bid related to the brand new solar park realization that will be located in the area of Ituverava.
The solar farm, already started to be built on December 2015, will be located in the State of Bahia, Brazil’s northeast area and will have a total installed capacity of 254MWp. The estimated annual energy production will be around 500 GWh and its power up is planned by the end of 2017. The solar farm is foreseen to integrate single-axis trackers setting up that allow the photovoltaic modules to vary its orientation during the day depending on the position of the sun. This is the largest solar power plant built by Enel Green Power and, surely, will help to meet Brazil’s fast growing electricity demand: indeed, in this country – according to latest data – the edification will grow at an average annual rate of 4% up to 2020.
“We believe that Brazil, a country where our Group holds industrial activities while over 50 years, represents a great opportunity in the near future: in fact, it is market that shows a very significant growth perspectives considering both mid and long period. Enerray intends to become in this country a benchmark leader in the renewable sector. Starting to build up the largest solar farm of the country is an achievement that makes us very proud and shows how much Brazil is important for us.” – commented Michele Scandellari, Enerray’s CEO
In 2014, Enerray founded Enerray do Brasil company, based in Jundiaì (SP).
