Commercial and industrial rooftop solar systems in UAE and Gulf Area

The United Arab Emirates has some of the highest electricity consumption rates in the world.

Historically, tariff rates for electricity in the UAE have not reflected actual production costs, due to subsidies applied to electricity bill.

The UAE is considering removing all forms of electricity subsidies in the future, replacing this form of inefficient cost with more investments in renewable energy to achieve its target for clean energy sources by 2050.

This reasoning can also be done by private entrepreneurs that owns commercial and industrial buildings in UAE and Gulf area.

The electricity tariffs will probably go up in the future, due to the increase in energy consumptions and the removal of the subsidies.

In this context photovoltaic energy is the best solution to avoid higher electricity bills, allowing to generate clean energy and giving a green image of your company.

Moreover, the growing demand of solar PV systems in the world, and in recent years in the Gulf Area, has allowed the lowering of component prices. The trend will continue in the coming years as shown by many researches.

One of the main advantages of rooftop solar pv systems is the possibility to consume directly the energy produced by the photovoltaic plant. In this way the amount of electricity taken from the electricity grid decreases. Based on the size of the solar installation, the amount of self-consumption can reach up to 100%.

If any, the surplus is injected into the grid, to be deducted from future energy bills. This is the case of Dubai through its Shams Dubai program, but other Emirates and Countries in the Gulf area have taken or are taking steps in this way. To know more about Shams Dubai program you can read the following blog>

Emirates and Gulf area Countries enjoy plenty of sunshine and, for commercial and industrial users, considering their intensive energy uses, the investment in solar energy can be repaid in few years.

Enerray, through its branch for Gulf area called Enerray Gulf Solar Energy Systems LLC, located in Dubai, thanks to a very professional local team, can offer a 360° EPC and O&M services providing the cutting-edge of Italian engineering quality, innovation and attention to design, that we export all over the world. We support the investor in all phases of the realization of the PV system, from feasibility studies to post installation phase and maintenance services.
